Job summary

Grab is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join the DevTools team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will build platform systems, developer tooling, and automation at scale to empower thousands of engineers across the organization.

You will contribute to production code and maintainable systems, working with cloud platforms (AWS), CI/CD, and automation; you will apply AI-enabled workflows and best engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DevOps experience with cloud deployments.
• Strong coding in Python/Go/shell; scripting skills.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with AWS and Unix/Linux fundamentals.
• Willingness to learn AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform systems, internal tools, automation, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable code for APIs, scripts, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.
• Manage and improve DevOps platforms such as GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and CI/CD systems.
• Troubleshoot cloud, Linux, CI/CD, and platform issues.
• Work with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable platform solutions.
• Use AI tools and automation to improve productivity and delivery speed.

About the Team

Join the DevTools team at Grab, where we build cloud engineering platforms, developer tools, automation systems, and AI-enabled engineering workflows that help teams operate effectively, securely, and at scale.

Our mission is to improve developer productivity and platform reliability through well designed tooling, automation, and platform services, allowing our builder teams to move faster while operating securely and at scale.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands‑on DevOps Engineer who can write code, build platform systems, and automate infrastructure at scale.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This role is suited for someone with strong cloud engineering fundamentals, infrastructure automation experience, and the ability to build reliable internal platforms, integrations, APIs, scripts, and developer tooling.

This is not only an operations role. We are looking for someone who can contribute to production code, build maintainable systems, and solve platform engineering problems end to end.

• Build and maintain platform systems, internal tools, automation, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable code for APIs, scripts, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.
• Manage and improve DevOps platforms such as GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and CI/CD systems.
• Troubleshoot cloud, Linux, CI/CD, and platform issues.
• Work with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable platform solutions.
• Use AI tools and automation to improve productivity and delivery speed.
• Strong coding ability in Python, Go, shell scripting, or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong Unix/Linux, scripting, troubleshooting, and systems fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Ability to build maintainable systems and follow good engineering practices.
• Openness to learning and using AI tools and automation.

Nice to Have

• Experience building developer platforms or internal tooling.
• Experience operating DevOps platforms at scale.
• Exposure to SRE, observability, DevSecOps, or vendor integrations.
