Job summary

Maybank is seeking a hands-on developer to build, customize, test and support Trade Finance and SCF applications on Finastra platforms. You will implement platform enhancements, regulatory changes and integration touchpoints under guidance from Tech Lead and Solution Architect.

The role covers SDK customization, Java/Jakarta EE development, and production support across development to production environments, with strong focus on quality, traceability and secure coding practices.

Job description

Role Summary

Responsible for hands-on development, configuration, customisation, testing support, defect remediation and technical documentation for Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance applications built on Finastra Trade Innovation and Fusion Corporate Channels. Requires practical experience in Finastra SDK development, Java/Jakarta EE, JBoss or WildFly deployment, database troubleshooting, interface development, and production support practices. The developer will work under the guidance of the Technical Lead and Solution Architect to implement platform enhancements, regulatory changes, integration changes and custom functionality.

Primary Platforms

Finastra Trade Innovation (FTI), Fusion Corporate Channels (FCC), related Trade and SCF integration components.

1. Finastra SDK Development and Customisation

• Develop, enhance and maintain Finastra Trade Innovation and Fusion Corporate Channels customisations using Finastra SDK or approved customisation framework.
• Build and modify business rules, validations, screens, workflows, message mappings, templates, reports, and integration touchpoints as required by project scope.
• Perform SDK compilation, packaging, deployment preparation, configuration updates and technical verification under controlled release procedures.
• Support impact assessment for platform upgrades, SWIFT standards changes, MT/MX changes, structured address requirements and country-specific regulatory enhancements.
• Maintain clean, documented and supportable customisation artifacts with version control and traceability to requirements.

2. Java, JBoss and Application Development

• Develop and troubleshoot Java, Jakarta EE, Spring or related enterprise application components used by Trade, FCC or SCF solutions.
• Support application deployment and troubleshooting on JBoss or WildFly, including deployment errors, datasource issues, logging, JVM behaviour and runtime configuration.
• Assist with environment verification across development, SIT, UAT, pre-production and production environments.
• Create or update scripts, configuration files, properties, deployment packages and technical runbooks needed for controlled release.
• Follow secure coding, peer review, coding standards, audit and change management requirements.

3. Integration Development and Support

• Develop and support interfaces between FTI, FCC, SCF, core banking, SWIFT, payment systems, screening, treasury, data warehouse, document management and customer channels.
• Work on REST APIs, SOAP services, ESB integrations, MQ messaging, SFTP or file-based exchange, batch processing and payload transformation.
• Implement mapping logic, field validation, error handling, retry handling, audit logging and interface-level technical controls.
• Support interface testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, defect analysis and production issue troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream technical teams to resolve integration defects and clarify mapping or protocol issues.

4. Testing, Defect Resolution and Production Support

• Prepare unit test evidence, technical test results, deployment verification evidence and defect fix documentation.
• Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, performance testing and go-live readiness activities.
• Analyze defects, identify root cause, provide fixes, validate correction and update related documentation.
• Support production deployment, post-deployment monitoring, issue triage and stabilization activities.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer for support teams and operational handover.
