Job summary

ASPL (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented Design/Technical Engineer to support engineering, tendering, and project execution teams. You will prepare electrical drawings, develop technical solutions, and provide design support during execution with occasional site visits.

You will work on AutoCAD drawings, SLDs/GA/wiring diagrams, review specifications, and document revisions throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably 1–3 years of electrical engineering/design/technical-related experience.
• Familiarity with electrical switchgear, LV/MV distribution systems or industrial electrical systems is an advantage.
• Willing to travel and attend site visits as required.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop, and revise electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare electrical schematics, SLDs, GA drawings, wiring diagrams and other technical drawings.
• Review project specifications and drawings for compliance with requirements.
• Develop engineering designs and technical solutions for electrical systems and equipment.
• Update drawings throughout the project lifecycle and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with tendering to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Prepare technical drawings, proposals, and supporting documents for tender submissions.
• Update drawings during execution based on site conditions and approved designs.
• Attend site visits to verify conditions and provide engineering recommendations.
• Address technical queries (TQ), RFIs, and drawing-related issues.

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically competent Design / Technical Engineer to support our engineering, tendering, and project execution teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical engineering drawings, developing technical solutions, providing design and technical support during project execution, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure that engineering requirements are properly addressed. The role will involve both office-based engineering work and occasional site visits to provide technical assistance and resolve design-related issues.

Key responsibilities

Prepare, develop, and revise electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD

Prepare electrical schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLD), general arrangement (GA) drawings, wiring diagrams, and other relevant technical drawings

Review project specifications, technical requirements, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements

Assist in developing engineering designs and technical solutions for electrical systems and equipment

Ensure drawings are properly documented, updated, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle

Work closely with the tendering team to understand project requirements and develop suitable technical solutions

Prepare technical drawings, technical proposals, and supporting documents for tender submissions

Prepare and update engineering drawings during the project execution stage based on approved designs, site conditions, and project requirements

Attend site visits when required to investigate technical issues, verify site conditions, and provide engineering recommendations

Assist in resolving technical queries (TQ), requests for information (RFI), and drawing-related issues

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Preferably 1–3 years of working experience in electrical engineering, design, or technical-related roles

Good understanding of electrical systems, components, and basic electrical engineering principles

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents

Familiarity with electrical switchgear, LV/MV distribution systems, or industrial electrical systems will be an added advantage

Willing to travel and attend site visits when required

Able to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
