Job summary

Kaiu Artisan Creative in Malaysia seeks a Design & Site Assistant to work closely with the Business Owner/Director. This hands-on role combines site coordination, supplier sourcing, admin tasks, and basic design work, with you on the move between sites and client meetings.

You will learn how projects are built from the ground up, manage site arrangements, and support reading drawings, selecting finishes, and creating sample boards. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (Fresh graduates encouraged).
• Valid driver’s license (Class D) and own transport to travel to job sites.
• Proactive, fast learner with high initiative and responsibility.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or MS Office/Excel is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Visit active job sites to monitor progress and ensure installations match plans.
• Contact suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain and compare quotations for materials and labour.
• Accompany the Director to client meetings, site walk-throughs, and vendor discussions to take notes and follow up on actions.
• Assist with site paperwork, purchase orders, material tracking, and project schedules.
• Assist with reading construction drawings, preparing sample boards, or selecting finishes when needed.
