Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Demand Planner in Kuala Lumpur to drive forecasting accuracy and support S&OP processes across a consumer-driven business. You will develop an 18-month demand plan and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain. You will translate demand drivers into forecast adjustments, monitor forecast accuracy, and participate in monthly planning reviews. Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain Planning, or related functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with forecasting tools, planning systems, and large datasets.
  • Comfortable analysing trends, interpreting data, and translating insights into actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy, bias, and planning performance indicators.
  • Identify forecasting variances and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
  • Incorporate market trends, product launches, discontinuations, promotional activities, and distribution changes into demand planning assumptions.
  • Translate commercial demand drivers into quantifiable forecast adjustments and scenario plans.
  • Lead demand review discussions with key stakeholders and secure alignment on forecast assumptions.
  • Support and facilitate monthly S&OP activities and demand review meetings.
  • Collaborate with replenishment and supply planning teams to align forecasts with execution plans.
  • Monitor short-term demand changes and communicate risks, opportunities, and service implications.
  • Partner with Finance and commercial teams to align volume forecasts with business objectives and performance targets.
  • Drive continuous improvements in forecasting methodologies, data quality, and planning processes.

Description

As the Demand Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an 18-month demand plan, ensuring forecasts accurately reflect market dynamics, commercial activities, and business priorities. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, you will play a key role in driving forecasting accuracy and supporting business planning processes.

  • Consumer goods, FMCG, retail, or distribution industry experience will be highly regarded.
