Description
As the Demand Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an 18-month demand plan, ensuring forecasts accurately reflect market dynamics, commercial activities, and business priorities. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, you will play a key role in driving forecasting accuracy and supporting business planning processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts.
- Analyse forecast accuracy, bias, and planning performance indicators.
- Identify forecasting variances and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Incorporate market trends, product launches, discontinuations, promotional activities, and distribution changes into demand planning assumptions.
- Translate commercial demand drivers into quantifiable forecast adjustments and scenario plans.
- Lead demand review discussions with key stakeholders and secure alignment on forecast assumptions.
- Support and facilitate monthly S&OP activities and demand review meetings.
- Collaborate with replenishment and supply planning teams to align forecasts with execution plans.
- Monitor short-term demand changes and communicate risks, opportunities, and service implications.
- Partner with Finance and commercial teams to align volume forecasts with business objectives and performance targets.
- Drive continuous improvements in forecasting methodologies, data quality, and planning processes.
Profile
- Experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain Planning, or related functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with forecasting tools, planning systems, and large datasets.
- Comfortable analysing trends, interpreting data, and translating insights into actions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working within an S&OP environment is advantageous.
- Consumer goods, FMCG, retail, or distribution industry experience will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
