Plexus Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Debug/Test Engineer (Fresh E&E or Experience with PCBA) in Penang, Malaysia. You will participate in new product development to ensure testability and manage NPI cycles to optimize test processes for smooth production transitions.

You will define test processes, develop specifications, and generate test programs and fixtures for production testing. The role requires strong communication, cross-functional teamwork, and independence, with fresh graduates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Good knowledge in In-Circuit-Tester and Flying Probe; RF testing and networking knowledge is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Functional and System Level testing.
• Able to work in cross-functional teams to solve operations issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; self-motivated and independent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new product development to ensure testability.
• Manage NPI cycles and optimize test processes for smooth production transition.
• Define test processes and develop test specs and procedures.
• Develop test programs and fixtures for production testing.
• Diagnose and resolve PCBA and HLA unit failures to maintain testing quality.
• Lead troubleshooting for RMA units and perform root-cause analysis.
• Provide ongoing technical support to production and WIP clearance.
• Execute EC related to test processes and equipment.
• Aim for test yield improvement and maintain test equipment.

Job description

Debug/Test Engineer (Fresh E&E or Experience with PCBA)

Participate in new product development to ensure testability is designed into new products.

Manage NPI (New Product Introduction) cycles, ensuring test processes are optimized for seamless production transition.

Determine the test process and develop test specifications and procedures.

Generate test programs and fixtures for production testing.

Diagnose and resolve complex failures in PCBA and HLA units to maintain high testing standards.

Lead troubleshooting efforts for RMA units, ensuring robust root cause analysis.

Support production by providing on-going technical support including debug WIP clearance.

Execute Engineering Changes (EC) related to test processes and equipment.

Responsible of test yield improvement and test equipment maintenance.

Oversee equipment installation, validation and change management to ensure operational excellence.

Identify and implement best practices globally to streamline testing workflows.

Support test quote requests based on RFQ process.

Lead Kaizen projects and provide technical guidance to the production team.

Adhere to global SOPs and work instruction.

Requirements:

Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Good knowledge in In-Circuit-Tester and Flying Probe are much preferred. Knowledgeable on RF testing / RF equipment and networking products will be an added advantage.

Good knowledge in Functional and System Level testing are much preferred.

Able to be part of a cross-functional team in problem solving and resolution of operations issues effectively.

Strong oral and written communication skills Skilled writing and execution on Tester Validation Report Must be independent and self-motivated.
