Job summary

FAB9 SF SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled Debug Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test defective PCB boards in Kedah, Malaysia. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to improve repair yield and reduce recurring failures.

You will perform component-level fault isolation, rework, and functional testing, using schematics and test equipment. Strong soldering, diagnostic, and documentation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in electronics or related field.
• 2–5 years’ PCB troubleshooting or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, SMT/through-hole components, and PCB layouts.
• Soldering, rework, and use of test equipment experience.
• Ability to read schematics and perform component-level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PCB/PCBA boards using schematics, test equipment, and documentation.
• Perform component-level fault isolation and rework (soldering, desoldering, hot air, microscope).
• Conduct functional testing to ensure boards meet quality standards.
• Record repair activities, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare reports.
• Support failure analysis and provide feedback to Engineering teams.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, signal generator, and soldering tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot and repair PCB/PCBA boards using schematics, test equipment, and technical documentation.

Perform component-level fault isolation and rework (soldering, desoldering, hot air, microscope).

Conduct functional testing to ensure boards meet quality standards.

Record repair activities, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare reports.

Support failure analysis and provide feedback to Engineering teams.

Operate and maintain equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, signal generator, and soldering tools.

Requirements

Diploma/Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

2-5 years’ experience in PCB troubleshooting, repair, or electronics manufacturing preferred.

Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, SMT/through-hole components, and PCB layouts.

Hands-on skills in soldering, rework, and use of test equipment.

Ability to read schematics and perform component-level troubleshooting.
