Job summary

HTC Global Services MSC Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Data Engineer (Intermediate) with hands-on SSRS and SQL Server skills to design, develop, enhance and support enterprise reporting solutions. You will work with business users and application teams to deliver accurate, timely operational, management and regulatory reports.

Key tasks include building SSRS reports, developing T-SQL scripts, SSIS packages, automation with PowerShell and providing Level 2/3 support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies and SSRS.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer (Intermediate) with strong hands‑on experience in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to join our Technology Application / Data & Integration Services team. The role will focus primarily on the design, development, enhancement and support of enterprise reporting solutions, while also supporting Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS/ETL, system integration, automation and secure file transfer processes. You will work closely with business users and application teams to deliver accurate, reliable and timely operational, management, financial and regulatory reports.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

Translate business requirements into functional and user-friendly reports

Develop and optimise report datasets, parameters, subscriptions and scheduling

Support operational, management, financial, regulatory and ad‑hoc reporting requirements

Troubleshoot report issues and optimise report performance and data retrieval

Work with stakeholders to gather, analyse and clarify reporting requirements

Develop and maintain T‑SQL scripts, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views and Triggers

Develop and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and ETL processes

Develop operational automation scripts using PowerShell

Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for reporting, database and integration‑related incidents

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related discipline

3–5 years of hands‑on experience in Microsoft SQL Server technologies

Strong practical experience in SSRS report development and support

Good knowledge of T‑SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views and SQL query optimisation

Hands‑on experience with SSIS / ETL processes

Experience supporting reporting or data solutions in a production environment

Good analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills

Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and report quality
