Job summary

Consultants Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Data Centre Technician on a 6-month contract to support 24/7/365 operations in Johor Bahru.

You will troubleshoot servers, storage, networks, and software, perform rack and installation tasks, and assist with OS upgrades. Fluency in English is required; lifting up to 18 kg is expected; prior data centre experience is an advantage. The role demands hands-on Linux expertise and strong problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux operating systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills in servers, storage, networking, and software applications.
Experience in a Data Centre environment is an advantage.
Knowledge of Data Centre cabling and infrastructure is preferred.
Able to lift, carry, and install server equipment up to 18kg.
Fluent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Support Data Centre operations in a 24/7/365 environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve server, network, storage, and software application issues.
Monitor, maintain, and support production server hardware and software.
Assist with server operating system upgrades, patching, and bug fixes.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and basic switch-related problems.
Perform rack, stack, cabling, installation, and decommissioning activities within the Data Centre.
Participate in on-call support and shift rotation schedules.
