Genesis Networks Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to lead the deployment and commissioning of a large-scale AI data center facility. The role transitions into a permanent Operations Manager position after go-live, covering vendor coordination, testing, and steady-state operations.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams on site in Johor Bahru, drive DCIM deployment, incident management, and security compliance while ensuring milestones and SLA adherence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer/Electrical/Network/Data Center fields.
• Certifications such as PMP/PRINCE2/ITIL v4 are preferred.
• 7+ years of data center deployment, HPC, or hyperscale AI cluster management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination with physical infrastructure vendors and hardware installation teams to ensure site readiness.
• Lead deployment scope, including OOB network setup, switch configuration, and automated OS provisioning.
• Supervise DCIM system deployment for server control and telemetry collection.
• Direct multi-phase testing and validation of hardware, network topology, and burn-in tests.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to track milestones and manage project risk.
• Manage facility handover, acceptance documentation, and post-deployment phase.

Data Center Project Manager (Deployment) / Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Project Manager to lead the deployment and commissioning of a large-scale AI data center facility, transitioning into a permanent Operations Manager role upon go-live. This role spans the full project lifecycle - from vendor coordination and technical testing during deployment, to steady-state cluster operations, incident management, and security compliance thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination with physical infrastructure vendors (containment, racking, cabling, power distribution) and hardware installation teams to ensure site readiness.
• Lead execution of technical deployment scope, including Out-of-Band (OOB) network setup, switch configuration, and automated OS provisioning.
• Supervise deployment of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems for server control, network isolation, and telemetry collection.
• Direct a multi-phase technical testing and validation roadmap, including hardware diagnostics, network/topology checks, performance benchmarking, and burn-in/acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and project teams to track milestones and manage project risk.
• Manage facility operational handover and acceptance documentation post-deployment.
• Direct on-site technicians on daily work orders (reboots, cabling, component swaps, troubleshooting) within SLA timelines.
• Monitor fleet health telemetry and utilize DCIM/monitoring tools to support predictive maintenance.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and change management processes.
• Enforce asset security protocols, inventory audits, and site access compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Architecture, Data Center Management, or equivalent experience.
• PMP / PRINCE2 or ITIL v4 certification preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in data center deployment, high-performance computing (HPC), or hyperscale AI cluster management.
• Proven track record leading GPU cluster deployments, liquid-cooled server racks, or high-density power architectures.
• Experience with high-speed network fabrics (InfiniBand, Ethernet, RoCEv2, BGP, VXLAN).
• Familiarity with DCIM software and Linux diagnostic tools.
• Hands-on experience with work order management platforms and inventory auditing procedures.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across client leadership, construction teams, and subcontractors.
