Job summary

CBRE Malaysia seeks a highly skilled M&E technician to operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment across assigned facilities, ensuring safety and minimising downtime. You will perform planned inspections, coordinate with tenants and contractors, respond to emergencies, and supervise subcontractors to meet the property's standards and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Background M&E & FM knowledge.
• BO Chargeman certified 33KV preferred.
• High school diploma or GED plus seven years experience as a licensed electrician; formal apprenticeship preferred; DDC/EMS experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license; Master Electrician license per local electrical codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of financial terms and operating budgets; ability to calculate percentages, discounts, and basic financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned inspections, quality control, and supervision of employees, sub-Contractors and other services.
• Deal with incidents, complaints, breakdowns and repairs.
• Act as a Competent Person in providing engineering and technical assessment; troubleshoot and implement solutions with Sub-Contractors/Service providers.
• Provide 24 hour emergency support and act as first response to emergencies.
• Carry out routine inspections on the property and coordinate repairs with tenants; renew licences and certificates; submit service reports.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and corrective work.
• Supervise term contractors and service providers to ensure work meets the scope and SOP.
• Attend to calls relating to technical matters.
• Ensure safety rules and guidelines are followed.
• Regular inspections of M&E equipment and record readings as required by EC.
• Perform other duties per EC requirements for a B0 Chargeman.
