Job summary

NEXTDC is expanding its Malaysian operations and seeks a hands-on Network Engineer to manage IT and OT networking across data centres. You will own configuration, troubleshooting and changes in a multi-vendor environment (Juniper, Fortinet, Ivanti, OpenGear, Aruba) while collaborating with Network, Security, OT and Facilities teams.

The role emphasizes CLI-based problem solving, with growth in scripting, automation and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

5 to 10 years in network engineering or operations, with hands-on experience in production enterprise or data centre environments.
Genuine troubleshooting ownership, comfortable diagnosing across multiple vendor platforms from the CLI.
Solid grasp of enterprise wireless fundamentals, remote access VPN and out of band management.

Responsibilities

Operating, configuring and troubleshooting switching, routing, firewalls, VPN and wireless across the IT and OT estate
Owning standard changes and incident diagnosis, improving runbooks as you go
Supporting incident and problem management, and identifying recurring risks
Establishing core monitoring and logging: device onboarding, alert rules and dashboards
Integrating monitoring with ITSM, CMDB and DCIM where possible
Contributing to automation of repetitive tasks such as config backup, compliance checks and bulk changes
