Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support design, coordination, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems for Data Centre projects in Malaysia. You will independently manage design deliverables, coordinate with stakeholders and drive projects from design through handover.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years' experience in mechanical design or Data Centre projects, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, building services engineering or Data Centre projects.
• Experience in HVAC, chilled water systems, fire protection systems and mechanical services design and coordination.
• Good understanding of UBBL, BOMBA requirements, Malaysian Standards and Data Centre design practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to independently manage project responsibilities.
• Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply; suitable candidates may be considered for a Junior/Mechanical Design Engineer role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and coordinate mechanical designs for Data Centre facilities, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling infrastructure, fire protection systems and associated mechanical services.
• Review engineering drawings, calculations, equipment selections, technical submissions and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards and local regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and authorities to resolve design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing activities, ensuring mechanical systems perform in accordance with design intent and project specifications.
• Maintain project documentation including design reports, RFIs, inspection records, test reports, as-built drawings and handover documentation.
