Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Government & Regulatory Affairs Manager (Data Center Industry) to secure and manage regulatory support for data centre projects in Johor and Kuala Lumpur. You will lead government engagement, monitor policy developments, and coordinate permitting across ministries and regulators.

The role requires 8–12 years in government affairs, fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, willingness to travel (>50%), and relocation to Johor Bahru.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Government Affairs, Law, Business, Communications or related field.
• 8-12 years of experience in government affairs, public policy or regulatory affairs.
• Experience independently leading government engagement with federal, state and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Secure and maintain government and regulatory support for data centre projects.
• Advise management on regulatory implications, risks and opportunities; develop policy positions and strategies.
• Build relationships with federal and state governments, ministries, agencies, regulators and government-linked entities; lead government engagement.
• Coordinate authority engagement and permitting activities; identify approvals and coordinate submissions.
• Ensure regulatory obligations are incorporated into project planning and operations.
• Represent the company in government-industry dialogues and monitor developments affecting data centre development.
• Provide senior management with timely intelligence on government priorities, regulatory developments and stakeholder sentiment.
