• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling, power distribution and electrical systems.
• Mandarin proficiency is essential (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data center environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, power).
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment (HVAC, generators, UPS).
• Troubleshoot facility issues to minimise downtime and service disruptions.
• Document maintenance findings in logs and reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and external contractors for repairs and upgrades.
• Respond to facility alarms and emergencies with corrective actions.
• Maintain records of performance metrics and report to management.
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure optimisation initiatives.
• Communicate with cross‑functional teams regarding operations and schedules.

About the role ISoftstone Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Data Center Facility Engineer (Mandarin) to join our growing engineering team in Bandar Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our data center infrastructure. As a Data Center Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of critical facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, and cooling infrastructure. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining uptime, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting our operational excellence objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge data center technology whilst contributing to the smooth functioning of our enterprise‑level facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data center environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, and power distribution systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, generators, and UPS units
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility‑related issues in a timely manner to minimise downtime and service disruptions
• Perform regular inspections of data center infrastructure and document findings in maintenance logs
• Coordinate with vendors and external contractors for equipment repairs, servicing, and upgrades
• Respond to facility alarms and emergencies, implementing appropriate corrective actions
• Maintain accurate records of facility performance metrics and submit reports to management
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure optimisation initiatives
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders regarding facility operations and maintenance schedules
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the data center environment

What we're looking for

• Mechanical engineering qualification or relevant certification in data center operations or facilities management
• Proven experience (2-5 years) working in a data center or similar critical infrastructure environment
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, power distribution, and electrical systems
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (both spoken and written) is essential for this role
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Knowledge of data center standards and best practices (such as ASHRAE guidelines) is advantageous
• Certification in data center operations (such as CompTIA A+, Data Center Technician, or equivalent) is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical issues and solutions clearly
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including on‑call support as required
