Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
1–2 years of relevant data centre or critical facilities experience.
Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and respond to operational requirements when needed.
Reliable, process-oriented, and detail-conscious.
Ability to converse in Mandarin language due to business needs.

Responsibilities

Support daily O&M duties across mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire protection, building management systems (BMS), and physical IT infrastructure.
Actively track monitoring alerts, diagnose faults, and coordinate escalations for critical system events.
Maintain site documentation, track energy/utility consumption, and record hardware inventories.
Oversee third-party contractors during routine maintenance, ensuring safety and guidelines are followed.
Enforce site operational standards including airflow management, security, and housekeeping.
Assist with tenant equipment rack-and-stack, power/space allocations, and client audit requests.
Support regulatory inspections, site certifications, safety programs, and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain operational logs, update SOPs, and compile data for SLA and performance reviews.

Job description

We are representing our client, a leading Hyperscale data center provider. Currently they are seeking for a Data Center Engineer to support the Data Center Manager in maintaining daily uptime, monitoring facility health, and supporting infrastructure maintenance. This position ensures high availability, seamless customer delivery, and strict adherence to service level agreements across all data centre operations.

Key responsibilities

Site Operations & Infrastructure Upkeep: Support daily O&M duties across mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire protection, building management systems (BMS), and physical IT infrastructure.

Incident Escalation & First-Line Response: Actively track monitoring alerts, conduct initial fault diagnosis, and coordinate timely escalations for critical system events.

Capacity & Asset Management: Maintain accurate site documentation, track energy/utility consumption, record hardware inventories, and support system modification requests.

Vendor & Work Coordination: Oversee third-party contractors during routine maintenance, ensuring alignment with safety protocols and operational guidelines.

Facility Best Practices: Enforce site operational standards, including airflow management (hot/cold aisle containment, blanking panel installation), physical security, and cleanroom housekeeping.

Client Support & Site Audits: Help execute tenant equipment rack-and-stack, power/space allocations, client audit requests, and performance reporting.

Compliance & Environmental Health: Assist with regulatory inspections, site certifications, safety protocols (EHS), and continuous process improvement projects.

Administrative & Reporting Support: Maintain operational logs, update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compile data for periodic SLA and operational performance reviews.

About you

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline

Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant data centre or critical facilities experience.

Ability to converse in Mandarin language due to business needs.

Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and respond to operational requirements when needed

Reliable, process-oriented, and detail-conscious

Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
