Job summary

SK8 Engineering is seeking a technically adept engineer to grow aftersales service across AMC, preventive and corrective maintenance, spares, refurbishment, retrofits and upgrades. You will engage with data centre operators, facility managers, consultants and end users to identify opportunities and deliver tailored service solutions.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving and planning skills; readiness to travel for site visits, inspections and emergency support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related Engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates with relevant diplomas/degrees are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with AMC and SLA management is preferred.
• Familiarity with 24/7 service operations and mission-critical facilities is advantageous.
• Knowledge of generator enclosures, diesel systems, HVAC, acoustics, and preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
• Good command of Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin for Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and willing to travel for site visits and emergency support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand aftersales business through AMC, preventive and corrective maintenance, spares, refurbishment, retrofit and upgrades.
• Identify opportunities within existing accounts to grow recurring service revenue.
• Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and recommend service solutions.
• Build strong relationships with data centre operators, facility managers, consultants, EPCs and end users.
• Prepare service proposals, maintenance contracts, quotations and technical documentation.
• Coordinate site inspections and assessments to identify maintenance requirements.
• Recommend service solutions based on equipment condition and operations.
• Review customer specs and provide technical clarifications; coordinate with Engineering and Service teams.
• Plan maintenance schedules with Service Engineers; mobilise manpower and monitor SLA compliance.
• Support emergency responses and customer escalation; document service reports and findings.
• Promote genuine spare parts and lifecycle management; propose upgrades and refurbishment plans.
• Maintain regular communication on maintenance schedules and recommendations; ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Monitor market offerings and identify new service opportunities; support marketing and technical events.

Competencies Requirements (Education, Training and Experience):

1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

6. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

7. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.

8. Good command of Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and business partners.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Development

• Develop and expand the aftersales business through Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, spare parts, refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade projects.
• Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts to increase recurring service revenue.
• Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and recommend suitable service solutions.
• Build strong relationships with data centre operators, facility managers, consultants, EPC contractors, and end users.

2. Technical Sales Support

• Prepare service proposals, maintenance contracts, quotations, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to identify maintenance requirements.
• Recommend appropriate service solutions based on equipment condition and operational requirements.
• Review customer specifications and provide technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to develop practical maintenance solutions.

3. Service Coordination

• Work closely with Service Engineers and Service Coordinators to plan maintenance schedules and mobilise manpower.
• Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Support emergency breakdown response and customer escalation when required.
• Ensure proper documentation of service reports, inspection findings, and customer recommendations.

4. Spare Parts & Upgrades

• Promote genuine spare parts, replacement components, and lifecycle management solutions.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and retrofit solutions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Follow up on equipment nearing end of life and propose replacement or refurbishment plans.

5. Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain regular communication with customers regarding maintenance schedules and service recommendations.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

6. Market Development

• Monitor competitor service offerings and pricing.
• Identify new service opportunities within the data centre and industrial sectors.
• Support marketing initiatives, customer seminars, and technical presentations.
