Job summary

QL Resources Berhad in Shah Alam is seeking a Data Platform & Analytics Manager to lead the Group’s data and BI functions, driving trusted reporting, scalable data platforms, automation and AI-enabled analytics across the organisation.

You will design and deliver enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, pipelines and dashboards, partnering with IT and business users to ensure secure, governed data for data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8–10 years in data engineering/BI/warehousing with leadership experience.
• Hands-on with modern data platforms and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve modern data platforms, BI dashboards, data pipelines, and analytics services.
• Establish and drive data governance, data quality, security, and reporting standards.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions.
• Drive adoption of cloud data platforms, self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytics.
• Establish standards for data modelling, ETL/ELT, governance, access control, and data quality.
• Oversee day-to-day analytics operations, including pipeline management and issue resolution.
• Lead and coach the Data & BI team to deliver timely, reliable insights.

Position Title: Data Platform & Analytics Manager

Snapshot of the Role

At QL Resources Berhad, we are looking for adriven Data Platform & Analytics Manager to lead QL Group’s data and business intelligence function — driving trusted reporting, scalable data platforms, automation and AI-enabled analytics across the organisation.

In this role, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes / Lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, dashboards and analytics services across QL Group.

You will work closely with IT, business users and management to ensure data from enterprise systems is integrated, governed, secured and available for reliable reporting and data-driven decision-making.

What You’ll Be Driven To Do

• Build and improve modern data platforms, BI dashboards, data pipelines, and analytics services.
• Establish and drive data governance, data quality, security, and reporting standards across the Group.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful analytics solutions.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platforms, self-service BI, automation, and AI-enabled analytics.
• Establish strong standards for data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, governance, access control, and data quality.
• Oversee day-to-day analytics operations, including data pipelines, reporting prioritisation, and issue resolution.
• Lead and coach the Data & BI team to deliver timely, reliable, and actionable insights.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Power BI Data Analyst, Databricks, or AWS/GCP data certifications) is an added advantage.
• At least8–10years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or team management role.
• Proven track record in delivering enterprise data platforms, BI solutions, data pipelines, and reporting services within a complex, multi-system environment (ERP, financial, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial systems).
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Power BI / Tableau, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines and data governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
• A leadership mindset with the ability to build teams, develop talent and foster a collaborative, data-driven culture.
• Willing to be based at Shah Alam, Selangor.
