Job summary

MR D.I.Y Trading Sdn Bhd is seeking a Data Analyst, Assistant Manager (Category Optimisation & Allocation) to build forecasting models, evaluate performance, and run what-if simulations. You will design allocation strategies, create analytics dashboards, and collaborate with IT and business teams to translate requirements into actionable insights.

The role requires strong Python and SQL skills, time series forecasting experience, and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience
• Strong proficiency in Python (e.g., libraries such as pandas, sklearn) and SQL
• Hands-on experience in time series forecasting and predictive modeling
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
• Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts and techniques
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and delivery (good to have)
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse teams (good to have)
• Demonstrated critical and creative thinking abilities
• Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions

Responsibilities

• Prediction and Forecast Models: Build and maintain forecasting models to support planning and decision-making
• Model Evaluation: Evaluate model accuracy and improve performance
• What-if Simulation: Develop simulation models to evaluate scenarios and assess impacts
• Allocation Optimization: Design models for inventory allocation across stores balancing stock, demand and capacity
• Dashboarding and Analytics: Create analytics and dashboards across platforms
• Data & Collaboration: Ensure reliable data pipelines and translate requirements into analytics
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate with IT and business stakeholders
• Project Management: Manage end-to-end delivery including scope and timelines
• Decision Making: Propose data-driven ideas and execute initiatives
• Any Other Tasks as Assigned
