Job summary

Teradyne in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Field Applications Engineer to develop and deploy advanced test solutions for Digital, SoC, Mixed Signal and Analog devices. You will provide on-site or remote support, perform data-driven investigations, and collaborate with customers to improve test processes.

Requirements include a Bachelor in Electronic Engineering or Microelectronics, 2+ years ATE experience, and proficiency in C/C++, Python, or similar languages along with strong English/Chinese

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent.
• 2+ years semiconductors ATE experience.
• Knowledge of Teradyne ATE platforms (UltraFLEX+, UltraFLEX, Flex, J750, Magnum, Eagle or similar).
• Proficient in VBA, VB, C, C++, C# or Python.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a can-do spirit.
• Good written and verbal English and Chinese communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug and deploy test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, SoC, Mixed Signal and Analog devices.
• Provide on-site or remote application support to resolve test hardware/software issues.
• Perform test correlation, yield analysis, and data-driven investigations to qualify/test programs for high-volume production.
• Experience in test program software development is a plus.
• Review load board/probe card schematics for test solutions and optimize customer throughput.
• Analyze problems and recommend improvements to Teradyne ATE platforms for better test coverage.
• Collaborate with test engineering customers to improve test processes and provide training and technical papers.

Opportunity Overview

The Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and driven Field Application Engineer, who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.

• Develop, debug and deployment of test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, System on Chip, Mixed Signal and Analog semiconductor devices.
• Provides Application technical support on-site or remote to resolve issues related to Test hardware and software.
• Perform test correlation, yield analysis, and data-driven investigations to qualify and release test programs for high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in Test program software development is a plus, often done in collaborative environment
• Load board / probe card schematics design and layout review for a test solution
• Analyze problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platform to optimize customer throughput
• Able to work with test engineering customers to understand and improve test processes.
• Making recommendations to improve quality of test coverage.
• Demonstrate tester capability for customer evaluations
• Assist customers on tester operation and capability
• Provide training, technical exchanges and technical papers

• Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent qualification.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Willing to travel locally and internationally.
