Job summary

Teradyne in Penang is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to develop and deploy test solutions for Digital, high-speed digital, SoC, mixed signal and analog devices. You will provide on-site or remote application support, perform yield analysis, and collaborate on improving test throughput for customers.

You will train customers, review probes, and help optimize test processes across Teradyne ATE platforms, while traveling locally and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent.
• 2+ years semiconductors ATE experience.
• Experience with Teradyne ATE platforms (UltraFLEX+, UltraFLEX, Flex, J750, Magnum, Eagle).
• Proficiency in VBA, VB, C, C++, C# or Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug and deployment of test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, SoC, mixed signal and analog devices.
• Provide on-site or remote application support to resolve test hardware/software issues.
• Perform test correlation, yield analysis and data-driven investigations for high-volume manufacturing.
• Load board / probe card schematics design and layout review for test solutions.
• Analyze problems and recommend improvements to Teradyne ATE platforms to boost throughput.
• Assist customers with tester operation, training and technical exchanges.

Opportunity Overview

The Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and driven Field Application Engineer, who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.

• Develop, debug and deployment of test solutions for Digital, High-Speed Digital, System on Chip, Mixed Signal and Analog semiconductor devices.
• Provides Application technical support on-site or remote to resolve issues related to Test hardware and software.
• Perform test correlation, yield analysis, and data-driven investigations to qualify and release test programs for high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in Test program software development is a plus, often done in collaborative environment
• Load board / probe card schematics design and layout review for a test solution
• Analyze problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platform to optimize customer throughput
• Able to work with test engineering customers to understand and improve test processes.
• Making recommendations to improve quality of test coverage.
• Demonstrate tester capability for customer evaluations
• Assist customers on tester operation and capability
• Provide training, technical exchanges and technical papers

• Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years semiconductors ATE experience.
• Knowledge and experience on Teradyne ATE platforms, such as UltraFLEX+, UltraFLEX, Flex, J750, Magnum, Eagle or other semiconductor ATE platforms .
• Proficient in VBA, VB, C, C++, C# or Python
• Strong proven interpersonal skills, relationships-building skills and commitment to teamwork and “can-do” spirit.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Willing to travel locally and internationally.
