Job summary

ASE Global in Penang is seeking a Senior Costing Executive to prepare and review product costings, customer quotations, and pricing proposals. The role analyzes cost and margin changes, supports cost-saving initiatives, and collaborates across departments to ensure competitive pricing.

The position supports budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX submissions, with Mandarin preferred for communications and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on costing or manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• Mandarin speakers preferred to support job-related communication needs.
• Strong analytical ability with proficiency in handling large data sets using advanced Excel and analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, computation, and review of customer RFQs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on pricing proposals, including complex or high-value cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) to develop competitive pricing.
• Conduct detailed analysis on cost fluctuations and margin performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Initiate and monitor cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement strategies.
• Drive automation and enhancement of pricing and costing processes with templates and workflows.
• Provide financial support in forecasting, budgeting, and operating cost analysis for management decisions.
• Review, prepare, and submit CAPEX applications to headquarters for compliance.
• Handle special ad-hoc analyses and reporting tasks as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by superior.

The Senior Costing Executive is responsible for preparing and reviewing product costings, customer quotations, and pricing proposals. The role involves analyzing cost and margin changes, supporting cost-saving initiatives, and working with various departments to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation, computation, and review of customer RFQs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on various pricing proposals, including complex or high-value cases.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) to develop competitive and sustainable product/process pricing.
• Conduct detailed analysis on cost fluctuations and customer/product margin performance, identifying key drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Initiate, support, and monitor cost-saving initiatives and continuous business improvement strategies.
• Drive automation and enhancement of pricing and costing processes, including development of templates, tools, and standardized workflows.
• Provide financial support in forecasting, budgeting, and operating cost analysis to aid management decision-making.
• Review, prepare, and submit Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) applications to headquarters, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements.
• Handle special/ad-hoc assignments, financial analyses, and reporting tasks as required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by superior from time to time.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in costing and manufacturing cost accounting; candidates with stronger experience will have an added advantage.
• Mandarin speakers preferred to support job-related communication needs.
• Strong analytical ability with proficiency in handling large data sets using advanced Excel and relevant analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; proactive, committed, and willing to take ownership of tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
