PrimaBaguz, a Malaysian halal meat products manufacturer, is seeking a Costing Executive on a 6-month contract based in Selangor.

You will analyze cost-related areas, conduct target costing, margin analysis, and support inventory and BOM cost control, while collaborating with Sales, Production and Finance teams.

The role requires a Bachelor of Accounting/Finance and at least 2 years cost accounting experience, with SAP or ERP exposure and strong Excel skills.

• Prepare GP/margin reports by SKU and customer.
• Analyze production variance and PPV to identify root causes and improvements.
• Assist budgeting in deriving accurate cost of goods sold.
• Support quarterly reviews of materials costs with cost-management insights.
• Verify BOM accuracy before each standard cost run.
• Perform monthly closing activities for process orders, WIP, and variance.

Position Overview

Responsible for analyzing cost-related areas and identifying process constraints. This includes conducting target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. Perform constructing and monitoring cost-effective data accumulation systems to provide management with accurate and relevant costing information.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate base cost information to the Sales Team for the documentation of the Price Setting Form, ensuring that pricing decisions are based on reliable cost data.


• Coordinate and oversee regular cycle counts and annual stock counts to maintain accurate inventory records. Identify and address any discrepancies found during counts to ensure inventory accuracy.


• Perform monthly reconciliations between the Production Output Report and Inventory Report to ensure consistency and accuracy in reported data. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations.


• Generate the Monthly Inventory Ageing report to track the age of inventory items. Present the report during Ageing Meetings with the team to identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and develop action plans.


• Prepare detailed Gross Profit (GP) margin reports by Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) and customer to analyze profitability and identify areas for improvement.


• Conduct thorough analyses on production variance and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) to identify and understand cost deviations. Determine the root causes of variances and recommend corrective actions.


• Assist the Budgetary team in accurately deriving the cost of goods sold, ensuring that financial reports reflect true production costs.


• Actively participate in quarterly meetings to review materials costs, providing insights and recommendations for cost management and reduction.


• Verify the accuracy of the Bill of Materials (BOM) before each standard cost run to ensure alignment with cost simulations and price quotations.


• Provide detailed analyses on production performance, cost savings, PPV, inventory, and product costing as required


• Complete monthly closing activities for process orders, Work in Progress (WIP), and production variance to ensure accurate financial records. Reconcile production data with financial records to ensure accuracy.


• Assist the manager in reviewing and refining processes related to product costing, standard cost, and inventory management. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


• To perform any other assigned duties from time to time.

Education

Bachelor of Accounting/Finance or equivalents.

Experience

• 2 years’ experience in cost accounting.


• Hands-on SAP or any ERP system is a great advantage.


• Strong costing knowledge and experience.

Skills

• Possess of knowledge and analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.


• Ability in extracting large databases.


• Ability to voice suggestions and comments effectively.


• Capable of working alone or teamwork.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially excel tools and functions.


• Good analytical skills.


• Ability to interact well and establish good relationships.
