Job summary

The Quality Assistant will perform routine analysis of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, align with GMP and sanitation programs, and help investigate non-conformances while maintaining thorough documentation in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to analyse problems and identify causes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform relevant physical analysis of raw materials, in-line products, and finished products.
• Conduct Metal Detector verification and record results.
• Maintain records of tested samples and ensure proper disposal per shelf life.
• Conduct daily cleanliness inspections of production areas, machinery, and equipment; re-inspect if tests fail.
• Assist in investigating non-conformances and customer complaints as instructed by Quality leadership.
• Assist in implementing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant.
• Report any non-conformance related to food safety and quality systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Quality Assistant is responsible for performing routine analysis and inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods according to standard operating procedures and quality control requirements. The role also assist senior staff in troubleshooting and investigating the root causes for internal non-conformances and customer complaints as well as monitoring compliance with prerequisite programs, especially Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform relevant physical analysis and other evaluations of raw materials, in-line products, and finished products.
• Conduct Metal Detector verification and assist the Quality team in recording and documenting the verification results.
• Maintain proper records of all tested samples to ensure easy retrieval, prevent unintended use, and ensure disposal in accordance with the specified shelf life.
• Conduct daily cleanliness inspections of production areas, machinery, and equipment. Perform re-inspections if Swab test or ATP test fail.
• Assist in investigating internal audit non-conformances and external customer complaints as instructed by the Person-In-Charge of the Quality department.
• Assist in implementing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant.
• Report any non-conformance related to food safety and quality systems .
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education

• Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Certificate or Certificate in Food Science or a related field.
• Working experience in the food industry or manufacturing sector will be added advantage.

Experience

• Experience in working as a Quality Control would be an added advantage.

Skills

• Knowledge of food safety standards.
