Job summary

PrimaBaguz, a Malaysian halal meat manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Assistant to perform routine analysis of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in line with SOPs and QC requirements. The role supports senior staff in troubleshooting root causes of non-conformances while ensuring compliance with GMP and sanitation programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Metal Detector verification and record results.
• Maintain records of tested samples and ensure proper disposal per shelf life.
• Conduct daily sanitation inspections of production areas and re-inspect if tests fail.
• Assist in investigating non-conformances and customer complaints as directed.
• Assist in implementing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant.
• Report non-conformances related to food safety and quality systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Quality Assistant is responsible for performing routine analysis and inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods according to standard operating procedures and quality control requirements. The role also assist senior staff in troubleshooting and investigating the root causes for internal non-conformance and customer complaints as well as monitoring compliance with prerequisite programs, especially Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform relevant physical analysis and other evaluations of raw materials, in-line products, and finished products.
• Conduct Metal Detector verification and assist the Quality team in recording and documenting the verification results.
• Maintain proper records of all tested samples to ensure easy retrieval, prevent unintended use, and ensure disposal in accordance with the specified shelf life.
• Conduct daily cleanliness inspections of production areas, machinery, and equipment. Perform re-inspections if Swab test or ATP test fail.
• Assist in investigating internal audit non-conformances and external customer complaints as instructed by the Person-In-Charge of the Quality department.
• Assist in implementing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the plant.
• Report any non-conformance related to food safety and quality systems .
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education

• Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Certificate or Certificate in Food Science or a related field.
• Working experience in the food industry or manufacturing sector will be added advantage.

Experience

• Experience in working as a Quality Control would be an added advantage.

Skills

• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to analyse problems and identify causes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
