Job summary

Cari in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Corporate Actions professional to manage day-to-day custody events for institutional and retail clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of events such as dividends, rights issues, and mergers.

You will develop deep knowledge of corporate actions lifecycle, participate in training through the Corporate Actions academy, and contribute to service quality and risk controls while supporting a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate diploma or degree in any discipline.
• Strong leadership skills with track record of delivering objectives and developing individuals.
• Possess Securities background with at least 3 years' experience in Corporate Actions.
• Fluent English in business communication and reporting.
• Ability to learn quickly, analyze quantitative data, and drive process improvements.
• Experience leading strategic projects and managing cross-functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Initiate cost control measures and optimise resource efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead to be customer driven by implementing controls and monitoring service quality.
• Resolve problems proactively to maximise customer satisfaction and escalate when needed.
• Review contingency requirements and implement risk-mitigating plans.
• Plan cross-training considering global contingency requirements and operational needs.
• Maintain tight control on operational losses and potential fraud via internal audits.
• Set productivity and quality targets to optimise resources and meet SLAs.
• Escalate to Assistant Manager/Manager for matters with potential financial loss or service concerns.
• Maintain satisfactory audit/regulatory/risk ratings aligned with policies.
• Demonstrate analytical skills for decision making using available references.
• Review procedures periodically to deliver efficiency and best practices.
• Provide coaching and support to team members on operational activities.
• Adapt to changes and support management decisions.
• Drive and manage change to achieve business goals.
• Share best practices across sections to ensure multi-skilling.
• Understand MI requirements and report to the Global Reporting team.
