Jora Malaysia is seeking an automation software engineer to develop PLC software, UI/UX interfaces, and control algorithms for industrial systems.

Degree/Diploma in Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
Practical background in hardware, equipment, or industrial control software.
Proven experience in at least two: PLC/controls logic, UI/UX frontend development, or algorithm/Python/backend tools.
Familiarity with PLC programming (preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT / IEC 61131-3 / Structured Text).
Working knowledge of GitHub PR workflows and AI-assisted development platforms.
Ability to carefully review and validate AI-generated output prior to hardware implementation.
Strong diagnostic skills, clear English communication, and comfort working in dynamic lab/factory settings.

The role requires someone who can build across PLC control logic, UI/UX, algorithms, and system integration, while using modern tools such as OpenAI Codex or similar AI-assisted coding toolsandGitHub.
You will be responsible not only for developing software, but also for reviewing, validating, and preparing changes for real system use.
Develop and maintainPLC softwarefor automation and test systems.
BuildUI/UX interfacesfor operators, engineers, and internal users.
Develop algorithms for control logic, automation sequencing, data handling, and system optimisation.
UseOpenAI Codex or similar AI coding toolsto accelerate development, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
Review and validate AI-generated code before use.
UseGitHubfor version control, branches, commits, pull requests, code reviews, and change tracking.
PerformPRV activities, including pull request review, peer review, production readiness validation, test evidence review, and release checks.
Integrate PLC software with upper-layer software using protocols such as ADS, OPC UA, TCP/IP, Modbus, or similar.
Support system bring-up, debugging, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Maintain proper documentation, including software versions, IO mapping, test procedures, validation results, and change history.
Work closely with mechanical, thermal, electrical, controls, and software teams.
