Job summary

Modular Scale in Malaysia is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage tender documents, cost estimations, and contract administration for ongoing projects.

You will handle monthly progress claims, final accounts, and payment certificates, while coordinating with procurement teams and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery. Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor's/Post-Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of working experience in Quantity Surveying and an Interior Design background or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Excel, strong problem-solving, effective communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Strong project coordination and time management.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier negotiations.
• Experience in contract law or related certifications is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and manage tender documents, costs and budget estimations, and submit tenders within specified deadlines; attend tender interviews as needed.
• Handle monthly progress claims, manage variation orders, finalize accounts, and prepare payment certificates for projects.
• Draft and issue Letters of Award/Appointment for subcontractors.
• Enquire, source, negotiate, and shortlist subcontractors and suppliers for current and upcoming projects.
• Attend site meetings and conduct site valuations as required.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and effective project implementation.
• Maintain thorough records of contract documentation and ensure all files are up-to-date.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and support final account documentation.
• Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and project efficiency.
• Any additional responsibilities/ tasks as delegated by the Management as needed.
