Job summary

techstreet is seeking an experienced Java Developer for a 1-year renewable contract in Malaysia. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, and build RESTful APIs with JSON data exchanges.

The role requires hands-on experience with MongoDB, Oracle Database, and MS SQL Server, plus strong English communication and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Java application development.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Java and Spring Boot (mandatory).
• Good knowledge of Spring Framework and Java EE.
• Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Good understanding of JSON, RESTful APIs, and web services.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Java EE.
• Develop and implement scalable applications based on microservices architecture.
• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, web services, and JSON-based data exchanges.
• Work with MongoDB, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server to manage and optimise data storage and retrieval.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure system stability and performance.
• Participate in code reviews, software testing, and continuous improvement of development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and other developers, to deliver quality software solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation in accordance with project standards.
• Manage assigned tasks, prioritise workloads, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
