Job summary

ShopBack is seeking a Finance Executive (AR) in Kuala Lumpur to manage invoicing, collections and AR controls. You will partner with clients and internal teams to ensure timely cash collection and accurate revenue recognition.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and strong Excel skills, with experience in invoicing, reconciliations and credit control. Fresh graduates are welcome, and you will work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing clients timely and accurately using templates and policies.
• Monitor AR balances and collect payments, resolving discrepancies with clients.
• Send reminders, negotiate payment plans, and manage collections per policy.
• Reconcile client accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare AR reports for management with insights on cash flow and credit risk.
• Mentor team members and support revenue recognition and tax filings.

The Finance Executive (AR) is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, monitoring and collecting of payments, and maintaining excellent relationships with cross regional stakeholders.

What You'll Own

• Responsible for the timely and accurate invoicing of clients, ensuring all relevant information is included and invoices are sent to the correct contact. Manage and maintain invoice templates and ensure adherence to company invoicing policies and procedures.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and ensure that payments are received in a timely manner. Work with clients to resolve any payment issues or discrepancies.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to collect outstanding payments, including sending reminders, making collection calls, and negotiating payment plans as necessary. Manage collections activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile client accounts and ensure all payments are properly recorded and applied. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and present regular AR reports to management, providing insights on payment trends, collections activities, and client creditworthiness. Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Acting as mentor of the team and provide guidance whenever necessary
• Monitor the deferred revenue schedule and ensure the revenue is recognized in the correct period
• Assist / Responsible for indirect tax filing

Essentials to Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Fresh graduate is welcomed
• Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) to develop new or improve workflows, enhance productivity, and drive efficiency at scale.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, including invoicing, collections, credit control, and reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
