Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to lead site‑level training, coach DMAIC projects, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will partner with Quality, Operations and Engineering, manage SWIs, track metrics, and deliver AI‑assisted data enablement while building a robust knowledge base.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing CI, Brown/Black belt certification, and strong facilitation skills to deliver measurable benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical).
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized body (ASQ, IASSC, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years’ hands‑on continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level Yellow Belt and Green Belt training schedules and certification tracking.
• Coach and mentor DMAIC and Kaizen projects from inception to closure with financial benefits.
• Maintain the site Continuous Improvement tracker for scope, ownership, timelines and metrics.
• Facilitate Kaizen events including VSM, 5S, Standard Work and lead time improvements.
• Lead MSA activities including GR&R studies in collaboration with suppliers.
• Drive improvements in process efficiency and lead time reduction; track performance metrics.
• Submit monthly CI summaries and present status reports at quarterly reviews.
• Build partnerships with Quality, Operations and Engineering to grow CI champions.
• Ensure SWIs and documentation meet quality standards and maintain knowledge base.
• Train teams in RCPS and perform trend analysis to elevate systemic issues.
• Lead AI-assisted CI projects and integrate SPC with data analytics teams.

Lean Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement Deployment

Efficiency Improvement & Lead Time Reduction

• Drive measurable improvements in process efficiency and lead time reduction by identifying waste and eliminating non-value-added steps.
• Track cycle time, throughput, on-time delivery, and process yield to establish baseline and target state performance metrics.
• Submit monthly continuous improvement summaries and present status reports during quarterly leadership reviews.

Continuous Improvement Culture & Standard Work

• Build strong partnerships with site Quality, Operations, and Engineering teams to cultivate continuous improvement champions across operations.
• Ensure all project improvements are institutionalized via Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and documented to quality standards.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base containing VSMs, SWIs, Kaizen newspapers, and project charters.

Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)

• Train quality and operations teams in RCPS methodologies to embed daily problem-solving capabilities.
• Perform trend analysis on quality issue data (QI and 8D) to elevate systemic issues into formal DMAIC or Kaizen projects.

AI & Data Enablement (Emerging Scope)

• Lead at least one AI-assisted Continuous Improvement project per year yielding documented efficiency gains or lead time reductions.
• Utilize enterprise AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) to streamline documentation, root cause analysis, and reporting.
• Assist in integrating real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring with data analytics teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• Certification: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from a recognized body (ASQ, IASSC, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ hands‑on continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Facilitation: Proven ability to independently facilitate Kaizen events.
• Project History: Track record of completing at least one full DMAIC project (Define through Control) with documented quality, lead time, or financial benefits.
• Industry Focus: Experience in semiconductor, electronics, precision manufacturing, or industrial equipment production.
• Statistical Tools: Solid understanding of MSA/GR&R studies and SPC tools (Minitab, JMP, or equivalent).
