Job summary

1347968H is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage the full set of accounts and oversee project accounting within a construction context. You will prepare monthly reports, handle budgeting and variance analysis, and ensure timely year-end closing.

The role requires 4–5 years of accounting experience, proficiency with AutoCount/SQL and Excel, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. On-site in Sabah, with collaboration with auditors and tax agents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 4–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiar with project accounting, progress claims, and contract cost control.
• Knowledge of Malaysian financial and tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software (AutoCount, SQL, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation).
• Prepare timely monthly financial reports and year-end closing.
• Handle project accounting, including budgeting, costing, and variance analysis.
• Monitor project expenses and ensure cost control measures are in place.
• Prepare progress claims, invoicing, and follow up on collections.
• Manage cash flow and financial planning.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and authorities.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
