Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Officer for the Construction Division to handle procurement of materials, equipment, and services for projects and operations.

You will prepare POs based on pricing, vendors, and project needs; source quotations, compare offers, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining records and supplier performance. The role requires a Diploma in a related field, at least 2 years' experience, and strong negotiation and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Experience in construction or project-based environment is an advantage.
• Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic purchasing/procurement systems.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple purchasing requests efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Handle purchasing of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects and operations.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) based on approved pricing, vendors, and project requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with project, site, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules, quality issues, and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier information, quotations, and purchasing reports.
• Monitor supplier performance and assist in resolving purchasing and supply-related issues.
• Support urgent and ad-hoc purchasing requests as required by the project and site teams.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
