Job summary

NCL ENERGY SDN BHD is seeking a hands-on Construction Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of ICT and ELV construction works for Data Center projects. The role requires technical competence, strong leadership, and the ability to manage fast-track environments on site.

The ideal candidate will lead coordination across Electrical, Mechanical, and CSA teams, ensure compliance with QAQC standards, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8-10 years of construction experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role overseeing ICT/ELV projects.
• Proven experience in Data Center, Mission-Critical, ICT Infrastructure, or Large-Scale ELV projects.
• Possess a valid CIDB Card (mandatory); relevant ICT, fiber optic, network, or safety certifications are an added advantage.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - (DATA CENTER -IT / ICT / Fiber Optic)

We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Construction Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of ICT and ELV construction works for Data Center projects.

This role requires a technically competent and site-driven professional capable of managing fast-track project environments, ensuring all ICT/ELV systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site & Construction Management

Lead and manage all ICT/ELV works on site, including installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Supervise daily site operations for structured cabling, fiber optic systems, network infrastructure, security systems, and other ELV systems.

Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Coordinate with Project Director, Project Manager, consultants, clients, main contractors, and subcontractors.

Plan and manage manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources effectively.

2. Technical & Coordination

Review and verify design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.

Provide technical guidance and support to site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

Ensure proper coordination between ICT/ELV systems and other disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, and CSA teams.

Resolve technical issues, design clashes, and site coordination challenges promptly.

3. Project Planning & Progress Control

Monitor site progress against project schedules and key milestones.

Identify potential delays, risks, and resource constraints, and implement mitigation measures.

Attend progress meetings, coordination meetings, technical workshops, and client discussions.

Prepare progress reports, site updates, and project documentation for management review.

Support project planning and recovery plans where required.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure all ICT/ELV installations comply with project specifications, QAQC requirements, and industry standards.

Enforce compliance with site safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.

Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and acceptance procedures.

Work closely with QAQC and Safety teams to maintain project quality and safety performance.

Ensure proper documentation, testing records, and handover packages are completed.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
