Job summary

Elsa Talent is seeking a Senior Construction Coordinator in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to organize and monitor multi-discipline construction activities at project sites within the oil & gas sector. You will ensure safe, efficient execution in line with project requirements and lead coordination across engineering, construction, QA/QC and commissioning teams.

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas.
• Experience in engineering, construction, installation, hook-up, and commissioning for oil and gas projects.
• Knowledge of installation and hook-up across multiple disciplines and commissioning readiness.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specs, quality requirements and industry standards.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.

• Verify readiness and support completion of outstanding works, inspections and punch lists before handover.
• Ensure compliance with project quality, HSE procedures and company standards.
• Provide regular updates on construction progress and site activity.

Job description

• Organise, coordinate, and monitor multidisciplinary construction activities at project sites to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.


• Coordinate construction activities across various engineering disciplines to ensure proper sequencing and smooth execution of installation and hook-up works.


• Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays or technical issues, and coordinate with relevant teams to facilitate timely resolution.


• Ensure installation and hook-up activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, construction procedures, and applicable industry standards.


• Coordinate with engineering, construction, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure facilities are prepared for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.


• Verify construction readiness and support the completion of outstanding works, inspections, and punch list items before system handover.


• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, HSE procedures, and relevant company standards throughout construction execution.


• Provide regular updates on construction progress, site activities, and issues requiring further action

Requirement(s):

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.


• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in a similar role or capacity.


• Relevant engineering, construction, installation, hook-up, and commissioning experience in oil and gas projects.


• Good knowledge of installation and hook-up activities across multiple disciplines, including the coordination required for effective construction execution and commissioning readiness.


• Familiarity with construction drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards.


• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
