Job summary

Shell in Malaysia is seeking a frontline Constable to protect personnel, assets and operations at SMDS Plant and Jetty facilities. Under supervision, you will perform access control, patrols and basic emergency response.

Be a Sarawakian and have completed the Kursus Asas Polis Bantuan to qualify. You will work with the Emergency Response Alpha Team and support HSSE/security procedures on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform access control at gates/posts and verify personnel and vehicles.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections and routine screening checks.
• Execute patrols and surveillance and report abnormalities promptly.
• Register visitors and issue passes.
• Support security checks and Breath & Alcohol Testing under supervision.
• Escalate incidents and assist in drills and emergency response actions.
• Support compliance with PAPPA, ISPS and related regulations.

What’s the role

The Constable performs frontline security duties under supervision to protect personnel, assets, and operations at SMDS Plant and Jetty facilities. The role supports access control, patrol, surveillance, and basic emergency response in accordance with site procedures, HSSE requirements, and Auxiliary Police regulations.

What you’ll be doing

• Perform access control at assigned gates/posts, including verification of personnel and vehicles.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections and routine screening checks as instructed.
• Execute patrol and surveillance activities and report abnormalities promptly.
• Register visitors and issue passes.
• Support Material Exit Pass checks and Breath & Alcohol Testing (BAT) under supervision.
• Escalate security incidents, suspicious activity, and procedural breaches immediately.
• Participate in drills and support emergency response actions (evacuation control, traffic control, access restriction) as directed.
• Serve as part of the Emergency Response (Alpha Team).
• Support compliance activities for PAPPA (CGSO Key Point 1), ISPS (Merchant Shipping Act 1995), Police Act/Auxiliary Police regulations and standing orders, HSSE & SP Control Framework assurance requirements and Company Security Procedure
