Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Executive Recruiters in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Manager / Manager to lead Compliance and Risk for the REIT Manager. You will ensure regulatory alignment across SC, MMLR, and related statutes while guiding governance, risk, and internal controls for the REIT and its trustee.

You will coordinate with auditors and regulators, oversee reporting to the Board, and develop policies, training, and awareness programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance/Accountancy or ICSA certification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in corporate secretarial, legal, or compliance roles with capital markets exposure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engagement with Senior Management and the Board.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify risks and ensure compliance.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex regulations.
• Independent worker with initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Integrity and professionalism in dealings with regulators and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with laws and regulatory requirements including SC, CM Act, CM Intermediary Guidelines, Islamic Capital Market Guidelines, and MMLR.
• Monitor updates in securities laws and regulations.
• Ensure timely submission of reports and announcements per SC and Bursa requirements.
• Oversee and enhance internal controls and governance of the REIT Manager.
• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with covenants in Trust Deed and contracts.
• Oversee reporting of compliance matters to the Board.
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks for REIT Manager/REIT.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
• Communicate and enforce policies across the organization.
• Raise awareness of regulatory obligations across the organization.
• Coordinate with external/internal Auditors and regulators (SC, Bursa, Bank Negara, PDPC, etc).
• Manage audits/inspections and be primary contact.
• Maintain/update internal compliance policies with regulatory changes.
• Manage incidents of non-compliance and investigate.
• Ensure data privacy and security compliance (PDPA).
• Develop strategies for AML/CTF compliance.
• Support internal and external training on compliance and controls.
• Maintain REIT's compliance and risk management frameworks.
• Perform risk assessments and propose corrective actions.
• Keep management informed of regulatory changes and risks.
• Offer advisory support to senior management and operations.
