Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; certifications are a plus.
• 2–3 years in a compliance role, preferably in banking or regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, AML, and data protection.
• Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and risk governance.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Monitor ongoing compliance activities across departments to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations
• Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify gaps, weaknesses, and areas for improvement
• Investigate compliance breaches and violations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings to relevant authorities on behalf of the organisation
• Provide compliance training and guidance to staff members, ensuring they understand their compliance obligations
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations, banking laws, and compliance requirements relevant to the organisation
• Liaise with external regulators, auditors, and compliance bodies to facilitate inspections and information requests
• Maintain detailed compliance documentation and records for audit trails and regulatory purposes
• Report on compliance metrics and performance indicators to senior management and the Board

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; professional compliance certifications (such as CCAP, CRMA, or equivalent) are highly desirable


• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a compliance role, preferably within banking, financial services, or a regulated industry


• Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, banking laws, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, and data protection legislation


• Excellent understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management principles, and regulatory governance structures


• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify compliance risks and irregularities


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation


• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment


• Integrity, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards
