Job summary

Atomic Recruitment SEA is seeking an experienced Community & Stakeholder Relations Officer to support delivery of a large-scale infrastructure project in Malaysia. The role serves as the primary liaison between the project team, local communities, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will develop strong relationships, coordinate public consultations and awareness initiatives, and help implement engagement strategies to promote transparency and trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Public Relations, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Community Development, or related discipline.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, or external communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, community leaders, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, public consultations, community meetings, and awareness initiatives.
• Support the implementation of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies to promote transparency and strengthen community trust.
• Serve as the primary contact for community inquiries, feedback, grievances, and project-related concerns.
• Collaborate with project teams, authorities, and external stakeholders to address concerns and manage expectations.
• Assist in planning and executing community outreach, engagement, and social investment initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen local participation and create positive community impact aligned with project objectives.
• Assist in obtaining permits, approvals, and other stakeholder-related deliverables for project execution.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, information security standards, and HSE practices.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen local participation and create positive community impact aligned with project objectives.


• Assist in securing permits, approvals, and other stakeholder-related deliverables necessary for project execution.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, information security standards, and health, safety, environmental, and sustainability practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Community Development, or any related discipline.


• Minimum 5 years of working experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, public affairs, external communications, or a similar role.


• Experience supporting infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewable energy, environmental, or large-scale development projects is highly preferred.


• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.


• Candidates familiar with local government processes, community networks, and regulatory stakeholders will be highly regarded.
