Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) in Johor is seeking a Kitchen Helper to support daily food preparation and station operations.

You will master basic cooking methods, prepare fresh ingredients per menu, ensure proper storage, and uphold food safety and hygiene, while working with the Head Chef and team in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time role requires a committed team player capable of weekend shifts, with SPM or diploma and at least 1 year in F&B.

Qualifications

• SPM or Diploma in related field.
• Minimum 1 year in F&B kitchen role.
• Able to work weekends and shifts.
• Follow directions from Head Chef and maintain consistency.
• Basic food safety and kitchen hygiene knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Master all basic cooking methods and handle ingredients.
• Prepare fresh ingredients per menu and SOP.
• Ensure proper storage of food and utensils.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment safety.
• Follow safety precautions when using electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Assist Head Chef and Chef De Partie as needed.

Job description

Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.

Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.

Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.

Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.

To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.

To always maintain food safety standard.

Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and

observe safety precautions when handling them.

To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.

Ability to work in a team

Work Requirements: -

Candidate must possess at least SPM/Diploma in related field.

At least have 1 Year experience in same job role in F&B industry.

Good team player able to work independently.

Able to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.

Be able to follow directions from the Head chef and be consistent with the food

preparation.

Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality dishes.

Adaptability and the ability to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
