Job summary

Maxis is seeking a seasoned corporate finance professional to lead valuation and business case work for new ventures. You will build unit economics, size markets, and test scenarios to guide investment decisions. The role involves due diligence, deal reviews, and presenting findings to senior management.

You will work closely with Finance, Legal, and external advisors to shape joint ventures and transactions, ensuring numbers are robust and decisions well supported.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years in corporate finance, M&A, or advisory, with three years in financial modelling.
• Experience on live transactions including valuation, due diligence and deal docs.
• Ability to turn complex analysis into a clear message for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Decide what is worth pursuing and size markets (TAM/SAM/SOM).
• Build unit economics (CAC, churn, LTV, payback, margins) and test pricing scenarios.
• Set gate criteria to decide whether a venture scales, changes course or stops.
• Shape deals and support JV/investment transactions through valuation and due diligence.
• Work with external advisors to structure and negotiate deals.
• Build and review valuation models (DCF, NPV, IRR, sensitivities).
• Test commercial assumptions and value drivers behind each case.
• Develop multi-year project finance models for relevant JVs with debt servicing.
• Prepare concise papers for management and the Board; liaise with company secretary and directors.

You will create the unit economics, valuation models and business cases that help management and, when needed, the Board decide where to invest, where to partner and when to stop. You will also support JV and investment transactions and work alongside external advisors, so you see how deals are shaped from the inside. You bring 5 to 7 years' experience, hold a high standard on quality, and can build trust with senior stakeholders and give them a clear message they can act on. The opportunity Maxis is building new businesses. Each one needs sound numbers behind it, so we know where to invest, where to partner and when to stop. You will build the analysis that shapes those decisions. Your models and recommendations will be used directly by senior management and, when needed, the Board. This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants their work to change outcomes, not just describe them.

What you will do

• Decide what is worth pursuing.
• Size markets (TAM, SAM, SOM), build unit economics (CAC, churn, LTV, payback, margin, cohorts) and test pricing and scenarios.
• Set the gate criteria that decide whether a venture scales, changes course or stops.
• Shape deals.
• Support JV and investment transactions through valuation, due diligence, and term sheet and agreement reviews.
• Work alongside external advisors, so you see how deals are structured and negotiated.
• Make the numbers hold up.
• Build and review valuation models (DCF, NPV, IRR, sensitivities).
• Test the commercial assumptions and value drivers behind each case.
• If a relevant JV proceeds, you will also build and review multi-year project finance models, including debt servicing.
• Protect capital.
• As required, check capital call requests against use of funds, milestones and approved mandates.
• Challenge portfolio company cash flow forecasts.
• Turn analysis into decisions.
• Prepare clear, succinct papers for management and, as required, the Board.
• Liaise with the company secretary and directors on governance approvals, with guidance from the Head of New Ventures.
• Support portfolio management and value creation.

What you bring

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• CFA or ACCA is an advantage.
• 5 to 7 years' experience in corporate finance, commercial strategy, investment, advisory or M& A, including at least 3 years in financial modelling or transaction work.
• Supporting experience on live transactions (valuation, due diligence, deal documentation).
• Strong modelling skills (DCF, IRR, NPV, scenarios, sensitivities, unit economics).
• You build models others can rely on and explain.
• The ability to turn complex analysis into a clear message that a senior audience can act on.
• Self-driven: You take ownership, work independently and raise issues early.
• Committed to quality: You check your assumptions and numbers before sharing.
• Your models reconcile and your papers are ready to use.
• Strong stakeholder management: You build trust with Finance, Legal, partners and senior management.
• You explain complex points plainly and challenge constructively.
• Advantage: project finance modelling, or experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, telco or technology.
