Job summary

Dreams Motorworks Pte Ltd in Ipoh seeks a skilled diesel mechanic to inspect, service and repair commercial trucks and heavy vehicles. You will diagnose diesel engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering and electrical systems to keep fleets safe and reliable.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years hands-on experience, familiarity with diagnostic scanners, and can work independently or with the workshop team to complete tasks on schedule.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on experience repairing commercial trucks or heavy vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems.
• Experience with European, Japanese or Chinese truck brands is a plus.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scanners and electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Able to work independently and maintain high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial trucks and heavy vehicles.
• Diagnose diesel engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering, electrical and electronic system faults.
• Carry out engine repair, overhaul and component replacement when required.
• Diagnose and repair air brake and pneumatic systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical and electronic faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to service schedules.
• Identify required spare parts and provide accurate repair recommendations.
• Conduct final inspections and road tests to ensure repairs are completed properly.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and working areas in good condition.
• Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain high workmanship standards.
• Work closely with the Service Advisor and workshop team to complete jobs efficiently and on schedule.

• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on experience repairing commercial trucks, heavy vehicles or diesel-powered vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems.
• Experience with European, Japanese or Chinese commercial truck brands will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of diagnostic scanners and electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
• Able to perform mechanical troubleshooting independently.
• Experience in engine overhaul, gearbox, air brake and electrical systems will be an advantage.
• Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence; GDL/E licence is an added advantage.
• Responsible, disciplined and committed to quality workmanship.
• Able to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
