Job summary

Micron Concept Aerostructures in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated machinist to support CNC milling operations and ensure quality throughout production. You will set up machines, verify fixtures and tooling, and maintain documentation for traceability.

You will work under the supervision of the department lead, perform inline inspections, uphold 5S and safety standards, and assist with continual improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Involved in product realization process by carrying out certified activities which comply to internally defined configuration, process, and requirement.
• Perform quality check throughout the product realization process to ensure product/ process quality control.
• Perform duties assigned by departmental lead and support overtime whenever requested to meet targeted output.
• Provide feedback and highlight any production issue or product abnormality to Supervisor / Departmental Lead for further disposition.
• Notify Departmental Lead on any potential product error.
• Assist junior machinists with OJT status to ensure product quality and machining safety.

1. Involved in product realization process by carrying out certified activities which comply to internally defined configuration, process, and requirement.

2. Perform quality check throughout the product realization process to ensure product/ process quality control.

3. Perform duties assigned by departmental lead and support overtime whenever requested to meet targeted output.

4. Provide feedback and highlight any production issue or product abnormality to Supervisor / Departmental Lead for further disposition.

5. Notify Departmental Lead on any potential product error.

6. Assist junior machinists with OJT status to ensure product quality and machining safety.

7. Ensure workplace cleanliness, workplace safety, product safety and overall 5S at the workstation.

8. Perform machine maintenance as defined in the maintenance record or as assigned by the Departmental Lead.

9. Ensure quality records is filled up accurately and that correct use of company issued stamp as defined in the procedure.

10. Work closely with Departmental Lead to ensure Departmental KPI, Company Policy, EHS policy, and Quality Objectives are met.

11. Ensure production output and efficiency.

12. Provide support in overall company improvement activities.

13. Responsible in performing documentation and physical check to ensure materials/ tools/ documents/ fixtures/ measuring equipment and gauges etc. are as defined in the product configuration datasheet.

14. Ensure that Work Instruction (WI) is always available to guarantee proper setup.

15. To ensure effective nonconformity (NC) control, Part identification and Traceability in the production line.

16. Execute first and last piece quality verification by submitting the piece to Quality Control for confirmation purposes.

17. Provide support in Engineering or Production data collection for continual improvement.

18. Ensure accurate update of ERP data and that job is checked in and out.

19. Perform in-line inspection based on Quality Control Inspection Sheet.

20. Set up CNC milling machines by installing fixtures, tools, and workpieces according to job specifications.

21. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

22. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
