Job summary

SAM Malaysia, part of SAM Engineering & Equipment, is seeking a machinist/technician to coordinate and solve technical problems, analyze drawings, and prepare setup and processes to meet schedules. The role targets fresh graduates or diploma holders in mechanical/mechatronic fields with CAM software knowledge and CNC milling/lathe experience.

You will work independently with minimal supervision and contribute to quality and safety.

Qualifications

Fresh graduate or holder of SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
Knowledge and experience with CAM software.
Less than 1 year working experience in a similar capacity and industry.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Able to understand mechanical drawing.
Knowledge and experience to operate the machine such as milling, lathe, grinding, CNC milling, and CNC lathe.

Responsibilities

To coordinate and solve any technical problem within your knowledge to get the job done on time.
To analyze and work independently on technical drawing, calculation, set-up, process, method, machine operations, tools, and equipment.
To prepare weekly progress reports.
To propose technical improvements in the fabrication process, method, and speed to meet company standards.
To coordinate with others to develop a good fabrication process for any job assigned.
To have the commitment to estimate hours and lead time when required.
Responsible for arranging and completing all assignments job in time.
To control the highest quality of products produced.
Responsible for machining and arranging for machines to be serviced when required.
To ensure the work surrounding are kept clean and safe.
To maintain the cleanliness of the machine.
To follow Work Instructions and Standard of Procedures accordingly.
All other responsibilities are assigned by Supervisor from time to time.
