Job summary

APRPM in Malaysia is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to perform setup and operations on milling and turning machines, ensuring parts meet specifications. The role emphasizes hands-on machining, on-the-job training, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The position also involves maintenance tasks, tooling evaluation, and occasional involvement in packaging and finishing activities as needed to support production targets.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Skilled in using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
• Experience training others in machining skills.

Responsibilities

• 70% Machining: CNC mill/lathe setup and operations to produce quality parts per specs.
• 20% Training and continuous improvement: train Level I–III machining skills; develop OJT materials; support safety.
• 5% Maintenance and tooling: inspect/replace fluids and filters; perform basic maintenance; resolve tooling issues.
• 5% Other duties: assist in packaging, finishing, and other machining areas as needed.

Job Description :

• 70% Performs all Machining and functions.
  Performs frequent and complex CNC/ mill and lathe setup/operations to produce quality parts based on provided specifications.
  Performs setup/operations on specialty machines.


• 20% Training and Continuous Improvement
  Trains others on Level I, II & III Machining skills through on the job training; creation of OJT materials, acts as tour guide and induction mentor. Maintains safety practices related to machining; (wear protective clothing, eyeglasses, as required).
  Participates in set up reduction/process improvement teams to increase process efficiencies.
  Recommends program changes and submits program change requests to programmers/engineers


• 5% Performs preventive maintenance such as inspecting/replacing fluid levels; inspecting/replacing filters and belts; performing visual inspection; and operating a refractometer.
  Solves tooling issues by identifying productivity of tooling, evaluating tooling performance, and evaluating new tooling requirements.
  Performs routine dimensional and visual inspection of product per procedure, specification or print using basic measuring equipment (calipers, micrometer, scale, indicators, and SPC equipment)..


• 5% Perform in other areas as requested by Team Leader including but not limited to one or more of the following: packaging, finishing, material deployment, quality and other machining areas.

Job Requirement :

• Ability to read/interpret blueprints; measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators) and in-depth knowledge of tooling identification.
