Job summary

ZHENGXI TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Machinist to operate and maintain laser cutting machines, prepare cutting programs, and ensure product quality to meet customer requirements.

You will read mechanical drawings, set up materials, adjust parameters, monitor equipment, perform inspections, and support continuous improvement while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 1 year working experience as CNC Laser Machinist / Laser Cutting Operator.
• Experience operating CNC Fiber Laser Cutting Machine preferred.
• Able to read mechanical and fabrication drawings.
• Familiar with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Knowledge of laser cutting parameters and nesting.
• Able to use measuring instruments.
• Willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, and cutting layouts before production.
• Operate and monitor CNC Laser Cutting Machine to produce precision metal components.
• Prepare, edit, and optimize laser cutting programs according to job requirements.
• Perform material setup, machine alignment, parameter adjustment, and daily machine operation checks.
• Ensure cutting quality by checking dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishing using measuring tools.
• Perform inspection of finished parts to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and coordinate with maintenance team when required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure the laser cutting area is clean and safe.
• Follow company safety procedures, including proper usage of PPE and safe machine operation practices.
• Record production output, material usage, and machine operating status.
• Support continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and reduce production waste.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cutting programs, operating CNC laser equipment, ensuring product quality, and achieving production targets according to customer requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Engineering or related field.

Minimum 1 years working experience as CNC Laser Machinist / Laser Cutting Operator.

Experience operating CNC Fiber Laser Cutting Machine is preferred.

Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and fabrication drawings.

Familiar with metal materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Knowledge of laser cutting parameters, nesting, and material setup.

Able to use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, measuring tape, and micrometer.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Willing to work overtime when required.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Bodor or similar CNC laser cutting machines.

Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and nesting software.

Basic troubleshooting skills for laser cutting machines.
