Job summary

Ferrotec Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality Control Technician for a 6-month fixed-term contract with a strong possibility of conversion to a permanent role based on performance.

The incumbent will program, operate, and calibrate CMM equipment, inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy, and interpret drawings to uphold engineering specifications and quality standards. Collaboration with production teams is essential to resolve non-conformances.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree or certification in a related field (quality control, engineering, or manufacturing) is preferred.
• Prior experience in quality control, inspection, or a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CMM programming and operation.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of precision and accuracy in measurements.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, and maintain CMM machines to measure dimensions of manufactured parts and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections using CMM and other precision tools like calipers, micrometers, profile projector and gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
• Interpret and apply information from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate inspection processes.
• Record and document inspection results, including reports on measurements, deviations, and other quality control data.
• Perform routine calibration of CMM and other measurement equipment to ensure consistent and accurate results.
• Identify discrepancies or quality issues and work with production teams to resolve any non-conformances.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality control processes and production efficiency.
• Ensure all inspection processes comply with company standards, customer requirements, and relevant industry regulations.
