Job summary

AMD in Penang, Malaysia seeks a seasoned Client/Graphics Platform validation engineer to validate client/graphics platforms across post-silicon phases, coordinating with cross-functional teams and driving validation milestones.

You will create test procedures, document results, triage system-level issues with firmware, software, and board design, and support GPU bring-up and debugging. Minimum 6+ years in PC hardware testing with strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor+; minimum 6+ years hands-on industry experience in PC, laptop, graphics, motherboard, server product test and debug.
• Excellent communication skills including English in oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Lead technical discussions with multiple function teams and drive triage and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Engage in AMD clients & dGPU’s post-silicon phases; review internal & customer designs, develop validation strategies and test plans for AMD reference or customer platform designs.
• Create test procedures and generate technical documents as needed.
• Execute Post-Si Integration validation; track/report validation status.
• Triage/debug system-level issues with cross-functional engineering teams (Firmware, SW, diag, board design) and root-cause issues.
• Support new GPU product bring-up and debugging issues.

THE ROLE:

AMD Client/Graphics Platform validation team is part of CGSE engineering , and is responsible to validate platforms for AMD clients/graphics products . You will be working with cross function teams globally to validate client/graphics platforms , triage/debug issues , and drive validation’s deliverables to hit platform validation milestones .

THE PERSON:

• Bachelor + , Minimum of 6+ year hands‑on industry experience in PC , laptop , Graphics , mother boards , server product test and issue debug .
• Excellent communication skills including English ability in oral and written
• Be able to work both independently and in a team .
• Leading technical discussion with multiple function teams and drive issue’s triage and debug .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engaged in AMD clients & dGPU’s post-silicon phases , Driving to review internal & customer’s design, develop validation strategies and test plan for AMD reference or customer platform designs
• Create test procedures and generate technical documents as needed.
• Execute Post-Si Integration validation ; Track/Report validation status .
• Triage/debug system level issue with cross function engineering teams (Firmware , SW , diag , board design) , and root cause the issue
• Support new GPU product bring-up and debug issues

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Solid knowledge of kinds of PC Hardware elements (CPU, GPU chipset, I/O devices, etc), Software (BIOS, Drivers, Operating System) and PC architecture.
• Technical experience in electrical hardware design , ASIC platform’s test and debug , and related tools , defect tracking and revision control .
• Graphics experience is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Sc. or above in EE or CS related Engineering
