Job summary

UEM Edgenta Bhd is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering professional for site supervision on road and bridge projects in Sabah. The role requires ensuring compliance with drawings, materials, methods, and safety standards, and overseeing inspections with WPC and RE teams.

Responsibilities include witnessing tests, managing site instructions, and preparing compliance notes to be closed before work is covered. A strong background in QA and regulatory knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years' proven experience in construction site supervision, ideally road/bridge projects.
• Certified Inspector of Works (registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia).
• Solid understanding of civil engineering, construction methods, and QA processes.
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standards.

• Inspect WPC’s work in stages as per the date/time requested by WPC.

• Prepare a written list of points for attention, in concurrence with the RE, where WPC has requested the inspection, and verify rectification before work is covered.
• Inform WPC and ARE should WPC fail to comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.

• Inspect WPC’s work in stages as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Witness testing of all materials and work done as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Taking note of the site instructions and any other relevant directives on the drawings used in the inspection, to ensure that they are taken into account.
• Prepare a written list of any points that may require attention, in concurrence with the RE, where the WPC has requested the inspection. The COW is to check the points have been rectified or agreed to before the work is covered, as the case may be.
• Inform WPC and ARE should WPC fail to comply with the Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.
