Job summary

Uemedgenta is seeking a skilled construction site supervisor based in Lahad Datu, Sabah, Malaysia. The role involves overseeing the application of approved materials and methods, ensuring adherence to construction drawings, and conducting quality inspections at various stages of the project.

Candidates should hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 7 years of supervisory experience in road and bridge projects and be a Certified Inspector of Works. Strong knowledge of safety standards and Malaysian regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction site supervision focused on road and bridge projects.
• Certified Inspector of Works registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Ensure approved materials, methods, and workmanship are applied.
• Inspect work stages as per schedule requested.
• Witness testing of materials and work completed.
• Prepare lists of attention points in cooperation with the RE.
• Inform about safety compliance failures.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensure approved materials are used, correct method and workmanship are adopted by WPC.
• Ensure works are carried out as per the Construction Drawings for the correct dimension, levels, locations etc.
• Inspect WPC’s work in stages as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Witness testing of all materials and work done as per the date and time requested by WPC.
• Take note of the site instructions and any other relevant directives onto the drawings used in inspection, to ensure that they are taken into account.
• Prepare a written list of any points which may require attention, in concurrence with the RE, where the WPC has asked for the inspection. The COW is to check the points have been rectified or agreed to before the work is covered, as the case may be.
• Inform WPC and ARE should WPC fail to comply with the Safety, Health, Environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 year(s) proven working experience in construction site supervision, ideally in road and bridge projects.
• Certified Inspector of Works (registered under Board of Engineers Malaysia)
• Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standards.
